Terramation is a natural process that gently returns your pet’s remains back to the earth. It is clean, safe, and designed to honor the bond you shared, while supporting a healthier planet.
Welcome to Heart & Soil, where we pay tribute to your pet’s wonderful life and the memories they left behind.
Your pet's remains are placed into a natural resting vessel, surrounded by organic materials and airflow . Everything is handled gently and respectfully from the first moment.
Now nature takes over. Through a climate controlled and monitored process, the remains compost into soil in a way that is clean, contained, and completely safe.
Next, the materials rest and stabilize. This ensures the process is complete and finished compost is ready for the final preparation and to be returned to you.
Your nutrient-rich compost is now ready. It is pathogen-free and can be used in your garden, a potted plant or tree, or you can donate it to our memorial forest project.
At the end of the terramation process, you receive your pet’s returned soil (compost) along with any keepsakes you requested. Your nutrient-rich soil is clean and safe to use in your garden or to nourish a memorial tree or potted plant. You may also choose to enrich plant life at a special chosen memorial spot.
You receive your pet’s transformed soil in a secure container, ready for planting or keeping.
A dated record confirming the terramation process is complete.

When our old lab, Milo, started declining, I dreaded the “after” more than the goodbye. I couldn’t handle the idea of him being reduced to a transaction. From the first phone call, I knew I was talking to a real human who understood grief and also had a plan.
Pickup was gentle and respectful. Meg explained each step clearly. I didn’t feel pressured, just supported. During the process we got a couple updates that were simple but meant everything: “Milo is safe. Everything is going as expected.”
When we received his soil, I was surprised by how peaceful it felt. We planted a small lilac bush in our backyard and put some in Milo’s favorite sunny spot.

My cat Luna was with me through moves, breakups, and two babies. Losing her felt like losing a quiet piece of my home. I was afraid the "aftercare" would feel clinical, but it was the opposite.
Jade spoke softly, answered my weird questions (like “What does the soil look like?”), and never made me feel silly. The paperwork was straightforward. I appreciated the consent and transport forms being transparent and professional it made made me trust the process more.
The return package was organized, clean, and thoughtful. The certificate gave us closure in a way I didn’t expect. My kids helped choose a planter, and we used Luna’s soil to plant herbs. They call it “Luna’s smell,” because it’s calming and sweet, exactly like she was.

We lost Ranger, our senior shepherd, suddenly. One day he was here, the next day we were making decisions while in shock. I didn’t want flames, and I didn’t have time or energy to bury him ourselves. Terramation felt like the only option that matched our lifestyle.
I honestly expected the process to make me feel more sad, but it gave us something to do with our love. They explained timelines and kept it simple, which was exactly what my nervous system needed.
When we got Ranger's compost back, we drove out to his favorite hiking trail (we had permission) and planted a small native shrub near home instead. We used the rest to make a memorial garden we can visit every day. It felt like a “second goodbye,” but not a painful one. More like a closing ritual. I cried, but I also slept that night.

My service dog Echo saved my life in ways people won’t understand unless they’ve lived it. When he passed, I needed the arrangements to be dignified—no awkwardness, no rush, no cold language. I needed respect.
Jade and Meg met me exactly where I was: quiet, exhausted, and trying not to fall apart. Everything was explained clearly, and when I asked for a moment before transfer, they gave it to me without making me rush.
I used Echo's soil to plant a tree. It’s now the place I go when I need to talk to him. This service gave me a way to honor him that feels aligned with who we were together.
